The Northeast Photography Club was founded in August, 1989 in order to promote and encourage interest in, and appreciation of the art of photography. The Club welcomes all who are interested in photography – beginners and seasoned professionals, those who use a point and shoot camera as well as those who utilize the latest photographic equipment. Read the club’s history here.
Club meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Smurfit Arts Center at the University of Scranton. Meetings include guest speakers, discussions about equipment, techniques and programs on all aspects of photography. Each month a competition is held to allow members to submit work to be judged on a subject with a theme, or “open” where the photograph can be of any subject.
